Career education is an important part of your time at high school. In fact, involving yourself in career education helps you make sense of why you attend classes like English, Maths, Science (and all the rest). Career education helps you take advantage of opportunities when they arise.
Studies have shown that the more you concentrate on your studies and the more education you get the more money you will earn as an adult!. But in what career will you earn your money? The time to start thinking about the possibilities is now
Many career opportunities are offered at Umina Campus including:
Individual support and advice regarding resumes and part-time job application
Barista Certificate Courses (You must be 14 years old)
Work Health Safety, White Card Courses (You must be 14 years old)
Work experience (Students must be 14 years old)
Mock Interviews (Year 9)
TAFE Taster Courses (You must be 15 years old)
All Yr8 and Yr9 students have Careers lessons fortnightly.
Students wanting to complete any of the listed courses above will find the permission notes on this site.
Any student wanting to know more about work experience, TAFE courses or career plans and pathways need to put a message in the Careers letterbox, located on the Careers office door in A block. The letterbox will be cleared most Thursdays.
Meetings and appointment are generally done on Thursday's and Friday's.
