BRISBANE WATER SECONDARY COLLEGE UMINA CAMPUS
ANNUAL SWIMMING CARNIVAL
INFORMATION FOR PARENTS AND STUDENTS
THE Annual Swimming Carnival will be held on Thursday, 20th February 2013. The carnival will be held at the Peninsula Leisure Centre, Blackwall Rd, Woy Woy. The carnival will begin with a roll mark at 8.40am and conclude with a roll mark at 2.30pm.
Students can make their own way to the pool or catch their regular school bus. Normal school buses will be picking students up from their regular bus stops and dropping them at the pool. Likewise in the afternoon, buses will collect students from the pool and return to their regular bus stops. If a student requires an early leavers note they must present this to Mrs Gilchrist during roll call.
The cost of entry to the pool is $4.00. As it is a normal school day, all students are expected to attend and participate to the best of their ability. Students are to enter the pool via the side entry, parents through the front entrance.
Students are asked to come in Mufti clothing in their house colours. BOOKER (A-D) – RED; CROMMELIN (E-K) – GREEN; DAVIS (L-P) – BLUE; WEBB (Q-Z) – YELLOW. Students will be required to wear coloured swimming caps which are supplied on the day.
Students are encouraged to bring their own lunch and appropriate refreshments. Food and refreshments will also be available on the day from the kiosk.
Students are encouraged NOT to bring valuables to the carnival (i.e. IPods, mobile phones etc), as the students must supervise their own bags for the entire day. The school takes no responsibility for lost or stolen items at the carnival.
For students who wish to compete in the longer distance events (200m freestyle/200m IM) – these will be held at 8.30am sharp.
